Twitter suspends the account of popular fake Putin

Vladimir Putin

Twitter has omitted an account that occurred when Russian President Vladimir Putin suspended after Russian government officials registered a complaint, confirms the social network.

The @putinRF_eng account had more than one million followers before Twitter removed it. “We suspended the account because it was impersonating someone else,” writes Twitter.

In the past, several news media thought that the account was actually from Putin.

Both The Washington Post and Bloomberg referred earlier to articles, not knowing that it was a fake profile. For example, it was written how ironic it was that Putin tweeted to Barack Obama.
