Tennis player Kiki Bertens has beaten Sara Errani in the second round of Roland Garros. In a strange match, in which the 33-year-old Italian had constant difficulty in throwing the ball well at her service, the fifth-placed Dutchman won in three sets: 7-6 (5) 3-6 9-7.
Bertens looked far from fit in the last set. At one point she seemed to be barely able to turn on, and she once received an injury treatment, apparently on an upper leg. Immediately afterwards she received medical care again on the track. Last week she gave up injured at the Strasbourg tournament.
The Dutch used her fourth match point after Errani had missed one earlier at 5-6. Also at 6-7, the Italian could serve for the match.
